Red POP! News is as a Bold Celebration of Indigenous Imagination and Indigenuity
I’m thrilled to officially launch Red POP! News, a digital platform that celebrates Indigenous creatives, storytellers, and innovators who are shaping the world of pop culture in powerful and beautiful ways.
As the founder of the late A Tribe Called Geek, I spent a decade highlighting and celebrating the ways Indigenous geek culture and S.T.E.A.M has broken into the mainstream media. But even as our stories and creatives broke through, there is a deep need for more platforms that not only keep up with those moments but center them, honor them, and celebrate us in all our brilliance, creativity, and unapologetic Indigenuity.
That’s where Red POP! News comes in.
Inspired by a photo of Zero Sugar Big Red posted by the one and only Patsy N. Morales and the older Oklahoma Native generation’s love of Red Pop, RPN isn’t just another media outlet. It’s a love letter to our people: the actors, game developers, comic creators, influencers, musicians, filmmakers, and dreamers who continue to take up space, break barriers, and inspire the next generation of creatives.
The RPN is now live at www.redpopnews.com
Please join me in celebrating the artists, storytellers, changemakers, and trendsetters who remind us every day that Indigenous joy, brilliance, and imagination are shifting and opening new worlds of possibility for our communities, and we’re still JUST getting started.
